The last few days and weeks have not been normal days. Very difficult moments for nations, businesses, families, seeing their citizens, employees and loved ones in panic, going through pain and some losing their lives. No one can claim that he or she is not afraid, or worried about the next hour or day.

However, is fear, worries and panicking the best option for us right now in Cameroon, Africa and the world? No, I do not think so. We humans are the most incredible creations to walk this earth so we make the decisions not some damn virus.

Together lets do the following as we strive to get through these hard times because we will. Personally, this is what I have been doing. Share with someone and we will go through this together

One: Pay close attention to your personal hygiene
This is not the time to leave your personal hygiene and that of kids to chance. It needs total commitment. Practice the following Basic protective measures

  • Wash your hands frequently & use hand sanitizers
  • Avoid group meals and if possible avoid public toilets
  • Use tissue paper whenever sneezing or coughing and dispose of it properly
  • Maintain at least 1 meter (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
  • Wear masks in public places if you must be there

Two: Practice Kindness
Treat people around you with kindness. Someone maybe going through rough personal moments now and couple with the ongoing crisis he or she can be in such a bad shape all they need is your respect and compassion. You can be kind by sharing your hand sanitizer or buying one for someone who cannot afford. Just be kind

Three: Practice Gratitude
Many at times due to the difficult moments, many of us forget the good things we have and focus on being worried. Being worried only get you depressed and struggling. Do not add self-pity to the list of problems. Practice gratitude; acknowledge all that you are now and all that you have. Be grateful for your life, your family and be excited.

Four: Practice Faith
Despite the difficult moments, you can have the determination and faith to see things through as you find your strength in God. It is time to move from feeling like a victim in these moments to find your greater purpose through your faith. Paul said in the book (Bible) of Romans “… in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Do not deny what you are facing but retain the faith that you will prevail in the end, regardless of your difficulties.

Five: Practice Foresight
In difficult moments like this, people are scared and the number one way they react to that is to stop trying. They stop growing themselves; stop investing in their craft, stop perfecting their business ideas and stop doing things that will enhance their career. I charge you to take a different decision, Practice foresight. These moments will pass and when they do only people who were strategic will take the lead not people who were complaining, getting worried and blaming someone somewhere. Now more than ever before practice anticipation, visioning, planning, strategizing and designing

Six: Practice Resilience & Optimism
In moments like this, there are people who will only portray failure and communicate bad news. The best thing you can do right now is to practice effective personal hygiene and be optimistic about a great tomorrow. Resilience & optimism does not mean ignoring the problem in order to focus on positive outcomes. It means understanding that setbacks are temporary and that you have the skills and abilities to combat the challenges you face. What you are dealing with may be difficult, but it is important to remain hopeful and positive about a brighter future.

The best days of our lives are still ahead. Keep shining! You are Rare You are Remarkable
